We're RICH!

No we didn't win the lottery or hit the jackpot playing black jack, but we are rich!
How many people get to put brand name clothes on their 6 month old babies?  Homemade organic baby food...you betcha!  Top of the line stroller, car seat, high chair?  Check, check and check.  Seriously, it is insane how blessed we are.  We have a heated home, running water and way too many toys to even play with in one day.  I must keep reminding myself of this.  Stop and smell the roses, Christi.  Everything isn't always going to be a piece of cake.  Rejoice!  Be glad!  This is the day that the Lord has made!

Life in perspective

Isn't it amazing how fast time flies?  I look at this sweet little boy everyday and wonder what he will look like when he's a teenager, what his voice will sound like when he says the word "Dadda" for the first time, how old he will be when he doesn't want me to kiss him anymore.  Then I stop myself because I want to enjoy and remember these days of sweet giggles, of the way he crosses his feet when he pulls them up while laying on his back, of how crazy he kicks in the bathtub, how excited he gets when I say "chocolate muffins" or "Good morning my shunshine".  This is it.  This is the one time he will be a baby.  Never again will Harper Daniel Kujawski be a 3 month old baby.  We need to cherish each day.  Having said that, every night I pray that he will be blessed with a long fulfilling life, that he will accept Christ at an early age, that he will be the person everyone wants to be friends with, that he will love and respect his parents, and that he will grow up and be thankful for having an amazing childhood.  I need to remember that the foundation starts now.  We are his parents and we need to introduce him to life with Christ.  We need to teach him good social skills and to love people, no matter what their circumstance or where they come from.  We need to lovingly remind him that we are in charge and most (and best) of all, we need to love him.  I feel like I kiss him about 640 times a day!  He is truly a gorgeous gift and I hope he always knows that.

Harper rolled over from his belly to back yesterday!  He's almost 2 months old and so adorable I can't stand it.  Just had to share the milestone with you :~)

Sto Lat (Happy Birthday)!

July 29th, 2010, our sweet son arrived after 35 hours of labor.  We attempted a home birth but were sadly disappointed when Christi had to be rushed to the hospital after pushing for over 6 hours. Twelve pushes later Harper was born.  Ahhh... a huge sigh of relief and instant tears.  Her first words were "It's finally over!"  After all that, he was blue, had meconium staining and lots of fluid in his lungs.  The nurse staff at Flower Hospital were a group of angels and 5 minutes later he was laying on her chest, bouncing his cute little lips all over looking for some food!  I'd want to eat something besides my own skin and 'leftovers' after 9 months, too!  His APGAR's were 6 at one minute and 8 at five minutes.  He took our breath away.  He was ours and he was finally here.
The next 3 weeks consisted of 104 degree fevers, 2 ER visits, 6 antibiotics and a nasty breast infection that left Christi almost bed-ridden in pain and exhaustion.  Some wonderful friends came to our house and prayed over it as well as anointed it with oil, especially our bedroom, so we could return without the bitterness, sadness and questioning.
We stayed at Harper's Nini and Papa's house for a little over a week to re-coup, get away from the painful memories that surrounded our house and heal.  Heal is what we all did.
